Solid Fuels Procurement

For operation at full capacity, about 3.3 million tons of fuels are procured each year for Zentralkokerei Saar GmbH (ZKS) and ROGESA.

ZKS’s annual fuel requirements include around 1.5 million tons of coking coal as well as 0.3 million tons of petroleum coke and coking duff. For the ROGESA plants, about 1.2 million tons of injection coal and blast furnace coke are procured annually, as well as about 0.3 million tons of sintering fuels such as coking duff and anthracite fines.

The primary supplying countries or regions are currently Australia and North America.

In addition to ROGESA and ZKS, the AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke and Saarstahl AG steel plants are also supplied with heating and carburization material.

The quality of the raw materials used is of particular importance to ROGESA and ZKS. You can find our requirements in the following appendix.
